3 teens charged in NCSU robbery tries

— N.C. State University police charged three Raleigh teenagers with attempting to rob two students on campus Thursday.

Darius D. McCalston, 18, of 810 Postell St., was charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Demetrius L. Morgan, 17, of 200 E. Six Forks Road, was charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon. Jonathan D. Pulley, 17, of 1119 E. Martin St., was charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery.

NCSU police Sgt. Jon Barnwell said two students were getting ready to cross Dan Allen Drive when they were approached by three people inside a white vehicle. An man armed with a handgun stuck his head out of the vehicle's rear window and demanded money. The students heard a gunshot as they fled.

All three teens were in the Wake County jail Friday.
