Teens are cited on alcohol charges

From Staff ReportsApril 17, 2007

— Chapel Hill police cited about 20 high school-age teenagers with underage possession of alcohol at two house parties over the weekend.

About three teens were cited at 825 Kenmore Road around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. About 20 minutes later police went to 110 San Juan Drive because of a loud noise complaint and cited at least 16 teens there, said police spokeswoman Jane Cousins.

Police contacted the teens' parents to tell them what happened. No adults were home at either location, and none will be charged in the incidents, Cousins said.
