Remains found off Capital Boulevard

— Raleigh police are working to identify human remains and determine why they were in a wooded area east of Capital Boulevard early Tuesday evening.

Officers responding to a call about a dead person in the 2200 block found the remains just inside the beltline, according to a release from the Raleigh Police Department.

The scene was secured and an investigation started, the release said.

No further details were available late Tuesday.
