Chapel Hill hires rec superintendent

— The recreation superintendent for Asheville, Ray "Butch" Kisiah Jr., has been named parks and recreation director for the town of Chapel Hill. Kisiah will start June 4 with an annual salary of $78,000.

Kisiah has served for the past 11 years as the recreation division superintendent for the Asheville Parks and Recreation Department. A 30-year veteran of the parks and recreation business, he also has worked as a regional consultant for North Carolina State Parks, a general manager for the Beech Mountain (N.C.) Club, and director of parks and recreation for the town of Forest City.
