Police seek robber of credit union

— The State Employees' Credit Union at 4900 N.C. 55, in Park West Crossing Shopping Center, was robbed Monday morning. Police are still looking for the suspect.

At about 9 a.m. a man handed the teller a note implying he had a weapon and demanded money. It was the fourth bank robbery in Durham this year.

Authorities, per police policy, did not disclose the amount of money taken. No weapon was seen.

The man was last seen fleeing the bank on foot toward the 1900 block of N.C. 54, police said.

The suspect is described as in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slim build and short hair. He was wearing a ball cap and may have had a beard.
