Repaving closes Durham I-40 lanes

Work continues on Interstate 40 in Durham County this weekend and next week.

Two of three westbound lanes are closed from Exit 273 (N.C. 54) to Exit 270 (U.S. 15-501) until 6 a.m. Monday.

On Monday, westbound ramps at Exit 270 will be closed so crews can remove a concrete overlay and replace it with asphalt.

Tuesday through Monday, two of three lanes on I-40 West from Exit 279 (N.C. 147) to Exit 276 (Fayetteville Road) will close overnight for repaving.

Each day the lanes will close at 8 p.m. During the week, the lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. the following morning. On Saturday and Sunday, the lanes will reopen at 8 a.m.
