— The seventh suspect wanted in the shooting death of a Raleigh seventh-grader was jailed this weekend.

Rahfaan Yamar Ali, 34, was extradited from New Jersey and booked into the Wake County jail on Friday night, according to police. The suspect is one of five people charged with murder in the May 1 fatal shooting of Gelnirys Ortega, 13. Two other men have been charged with being accessories after the fact.

Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service's NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Ali at the Nirdip Motel on June 21. Ali was extradited to Raleigh on Friday.

Milagros Ortega was wounded May 1 when she opened the door to her north Raleigh apartment. Her daughter, Gelnirys, was shot in the head and killed.
