Student still in critical condition

From Staff ReportsAugust 27, 2007

— An Enloe High School student was still in critical condition Sunday after collapsing in a cross country race last week.

Wednesday, Stuart Jones, an Enloe cross-country runner, was rushed to WakeMed's Raleigh campus after an apparent heat-related injury at a cross country meet.

Jones' collapse and the death of three high school football players across the country this summer have raised questions about how hard student athletes should be pushed in the heat.
