Arrests may be tied to county burglaries

From Staff ReportsSeptember 21, 2007

— Sheriff's deputies arrested three people Wednesday who they said might be connected to at least 20 burglaries in northern Durham County over the past four months.

Joey Daniel Parker, 28, of Isham Chambers Road was arrested after a vehicle in which he was riding was stopped at Glenn Elementary School. He fled but was caught after a brief chase.

Two stolen rifles were found in the vehicle's trunk, deputies said.

Parker was charged with four counts of burglary and several weapons and drug charges. Bail was set at $200,000.

The driver, Xavier Lee Carrington Coleman, 18, faces burglary and weapons possession charges. Bail was set at $150,000. A second passenger, Lakita Wilson, 20, was charged with possession of stolen goods and giving deputies a false name. Her bail was set at $5,000.

Deputies say that they have linked Parker to additional stolen property and that more charges are pending.
