Flight activity called a misunderstanding

From Staff ReportsSeptember 23, 2007

— The suspicious activity that prompted police to meet an incoming flight at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Friday evening turned out to be a misunderstanding, the FBI said Saturday.

FBI Special Agent Newsom Summerlin wouldn't elaborate on what took place on American Eagle Flight 4518, which arrived at RDU from Jacksonville, Fla.

Officials said Friday two people were arrested, but Summerlin said Saturday no one was arrested by the FBI, which is investigating the incident. Airport officials referred all questions to the FBI.
