Green Hope 27, Panther Creek 20

September 29, 2007

— Green Hope tasted victory for the first time, downing first-year varsity program Panther Creek.

The Falcons (1-5 overall, 1-1 Tri-Eight 4-A Conference) broke a two-game scoreless streak with the victory. Friday's points were the first Green Hope has scored since Aug. 31.

Green Hope's defense came up with a big turnover to help preserve the victory as senior Patrick Thornton intercepted a Catamounts' pass.

Panther Creek fell to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Catamounts won a matchup of first-year programs against Holly Springs earlier this month for their first victory.

Both the Falcons and Catamounts are at home next week. Green Hope hosts Apex next Friday in another Tri-Eight 4-A battle, while Panther Creek welcomes Lee County.
