After fire, officials wait to release name

From Staff ReportsOctober 16, 2007

— Investigators have not released the name of a man who was killed in a mobile home fire almost two weeks ago because they are having trouble notifying relatives, Orange County Fire Marshal Mike Tapp said.

Firefighters were called to the fire off Homestead Road about 4:20 a.m. Oct. 5. They found the man, described as in his 50s, dead in his bedroom, where they think the fire started. Tapp said he would not release the man's name until he gets word that the family has been properly notified.
