NCSU vows probe of toilet-paper noose

From Staff ReportsNovember 15, 2007

— N.C. State University Chancellor James Oblinger reassured parents Wednesday that a full investigation would be done regarding an incident Nov. 8 when a toilet-paper noose was found in a bathroom stall at the school.

Campus police have looked into the matter, Oblinger said in an e-mail message, and the Wake County District Attorney's Office has agreed to do a follow-up investigation.

"Anyone found guilty of this type of act is subject to the university's disciplinary process and may also face criminal charges," Oblinger said.

The noose was one of several apparent copycats around the country after nooses were placed in a schoolyard tree in Jena, La.
