RALEIGH — A motorcyclist, who was seriously injured Friday in a collision with a car on Interstate 40 in South Raleigh, has died.
Michael Steven White, 49, of 1112 Hillcrest Drive, Fuquay-Varina, was traveling east near the Hammond Road exit about 7:15 a.m. Friday when a Toyota moved into his lane and struck his motorcycle, Raleigh police said.
The driver of the Toyota, Marquida Racheal Armstrong, 23, of 2503 Avent Ferry Road, Apt. 1, has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said late Wednesday.
Armstrong told the investigating officer that she was exiting onto Hammond Road and did not see the motorcycle, according to police records.
