Broughton's Jack Parks edged sophomore Jake Bowling 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 1, but the rest of the Caps' singles players won in straight sets.

The victory sends Broughton into today's 4 p.m. semifinals at home against East Chapel Hill, which defeated Millbrook, 5-2.

Broughton beat East Chapel Hill 6-3 during the regular season.

Broughton coach Steve Spivey praised the effort of his Nos. 3 through 6 singles.

Senior J.B. Weaver, sophomore Phil Cardella, senior Tyler Wicker and senior Hank Warren made quick work of their opponents.

"Our bottom four are playing very well now," Spivey said. "I'm excited about our chances.

"Championships are won with depth. It's great to be really good at [Nos.] 1 and 2, but to win in dual-team, you need depth."
