RALEIGH — Raleigh police are working to determine what led to a shooting Tuesday night in Southeast Raleigh that left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Watch Commander Capt. K.S. Craghead said officers responded to a shooting just before 8:30 p.m. at Blount and Lee streets. When they arrived, they found a woman shot to death in the intersection. A man had also been shot in what appeared to have been a drive-by shooting.
The male victim, whose name was not released Tuesday night, was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Craghead said.
Neighbors said the woman found dead was known as "Run," and lived on Lee Street in an apartment home with her young son and a boyfriend.
Beyond that, there seemed to be little information to go on.
Investigators were interviewing several people late Tuesday and working through leads on several getaway vehicles.
"We're very much in the preliminary stages right now," Craghead said.
