Charges pile up against two teens

— Seventy-five additional charges were filed against two teens arrested last week in connection with a string of robberies and at least one shooting incident, Durham police announced Thursday.

The new charges against Trey Preston Brown, 18, and Scott Edward Eakes, 19, both of Durham, include numerous counts each of breaking and entering motor vehicles, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to property, felony conspiracy and misdemeanor conspiracy.

Brown of Wingate Drive had already been charged with five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, four counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, eight counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and one count each of attempted armed robbery, simple assault and injury to personal property.

Eakes of Chalk Level Road was charged last week with four counts each of aiding and abetting robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery and one count each of assault by pointing a gun, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of stolen property.
