Free fare on buses today

From Staff ReportsJune 27, 2008

— Capital Area Transit and Durham Area Transit Authority buses will offer a systemwide fare-free day today.

Cricket Communications is sponsoring the fare-free day, according to a news release.

"With gasoline prices at record highs, we think that helping people save money is a great way to give back to this community," said Hank Taylor, district director of Cricket.

This is the first time an area business has partnered with CAT in this way, according to the news release.

Riders also will have the opportunity to register for a free iPod Shuffle sponsored by Capital Area Transit and a free phone with one year of activation sponsored by Cricket Communications at Moore Square Transit Station.

For more information about CAT's routes, call 485-7433 or visit www.gotriangle.org.
