Stormwater classes taught on Thursday

From Staff ReportsSeptember 9, 2008

— This being hurricane season, it seems appropriate that Paul Wiebke of Durham's stormwater department is holding classes on "Stormwater 101" and "Stormwater 201" on Thursday.

"It's a comprehensive look at our stormwater services and what we do," Wiebke said, "all aspects of it."

Wiebke says the classes will address such questions as:

* What is stormwater?

* Where does it go?

* How can I improve stormwater quality?

Other topics include development requirements and watershed planning.

Both classes will be taught in the City Council chamber at City Hall. Introduction to Stormwater (101) is from 4 to 5 p.m. and Programs and Policies (201) from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuition is free. Call Wiebke at 560-4326, ext. 239 if you need to know more.
