Bobcats Observations

October 31, 2008

Coach Larry Brown said deactivating Andre Brown for the opener was about having Linton Johnson available as an alternative to guard LeBron James.

Interesting that rookie center Alexis Ajinca was on the active roster. The coach is very intrigued by the kid's potential.

I guess it just figures that a performer like James would look at poise as a key attribute for almost anything. James is voting for the first time in the upcoming election, and is supporting Barack Obama.

“Even when he's standing up in front of 20,000 people, he's always poised and under control,” James said of Obama. “I don't know, but I'm guessing you need that” to be president of the United States.

Rookie J.J. Hickson from N.C. State is such a talent, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown can't help but play him. The balance is not leaving Hickson in long enough to remember he's a rookie.

“I'm not going to play him long, but I am going to play him,” Brown said of Hickson, probably the best low-post scorer in the 2008 draft. “The whole thing for him is playing hard all the time. He probably thinks he's played harder here than ever before.”
