Hit-and-run accident hurts boy

— Durham police are searching for a champagne-colored Honda Accord with heavy front-end damage and a shattered windshield that they think struck and critically injured a 13-year-old boy Sunday afternoon.

The teen was riding his bicycle west on Southgate Street when he was struck by the older-model Accord traveling north on North Maple Street about 3 p.m., police said. He was transported to Duke Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with head injuries.
