Tips sought in Raleigh shooting

From Staff ReportsNovember 25, 2008

— Police are seeking tips from the public in the shooting death Friday night of a 16-year-old in Raleigh.

Adarius Monquell Fowler of East Lane Street died at WakeMed where he was taken after the shooting in the 300 block of Tarboro Street, near the intersection with Oakwood Avenue. The shooting took place about 8:45 p.m., police said.

Police have made no arrests, said police spokesman Jim Sughrue, who declined to say whether investigators had identified any suspects.

"It is a case where we need to get information from people, especially witnesses who might have been out there," Sughrue said.

"We're hoping there was someone in the area who saw something that might be of assistance, and we're hoping people will contact us, because it could definitely assist in the investigation."

Anyone with information that might help investigators is asked to call the Police Department's Detective Division at 919-996-3555 or CrimeStoppers at 919-226-2746.
