With wins over four teams ranked in The Associated Press' Top 25 Poll, the Tar Heels (17-0 overall, 3-0 ACC) could face their stiffest challenge to date against the undefeated Huskies (17-0).

The Huskies, ranked atop the AP poll since the preseason, are averaging 88.6 points per game and holding teams to 53.8 They are led by sophomore forward Maya Moore (19.6 ppg), senior point guard Rene Montgomery (16.9) and junior center Tina Charles (16.6).

UConn's Caroline Doty, a starting guard, was lost for the season after tearing the ACL in her left knee on Saturday.

This is the first No. 1-vs.-No. 2 matchup in the Triangle since the Heels faced Duke on Feb. 8, 2007. This is the Heels' third No. 1-vs.-No. 2 game in four seasons.

UConn is 8-2 overall in No. 1-vs.-No. 2 games. The Huskies are 5-1 as the top-ranked team. This is their first No. 1-vs.-No. 2 game since defeating Duke 77-65 on Feb. 1, 2003.

The Heels lead the overall series 5-3, though they fell to the Huskies 82-71 on the road last season.
