Mayor to report on 'State of the City'

Durham Mayor Bill Bell will deliver the yearly "State of the City" report at 7 p.m. Monday, at the regular City Council meeting at City Hall.

The address sets out the mayor's goals for the year ahead and assesses what the city has accomplished in the preceding year. The city plans to distribute to those attending a DVD of the "2008 Year in Review."

The speech also will be televised on Time Warner Cable Channel 8 and carried on the city Web site, Bell's text will be posted on the Web site by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
