Marijuana in house leads to arrest

From Staff ReportsFebruary 12, 2009

— Investigators found 117 pounds of marijuana plants growing in four rooms of a house at 121 Winchester Drive, according to search warrants made public this week.

The same investigation took them to a Knightdale home where they found processed marijuana and $1,200 in cash.

James Christopher Nevious, 35, of 1121 Oakgrove Drive in Knightdale, has been charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In a search warrant affidavit, an agent for Wake County ABC Law Enforcement wrote that investigators started watching Nevious' Knightdale house in July.

Last month, they got a tip about the house in Wendell where they saw a Ford Expedition registered to Nevious, and found marijuana plants as well as documents bearing his name. They also found a receipt for $8,953.18 worth of grow lights, irrigation, timers and chemicals.
