RALEIGH — Broughton completed its path through the Cap Seven regular season with a solid victory over Sanderson.
Broughton finished its regular season with a 19-3 overall mark and an 11-1 record in the league.
The Caps are the league's hottest team. They defeated Wakefield, which was ranked No. 1 in the state in the N.C. media poll, on Tuesday, 49-44.
Broughton enters the Cap Seven tournament next week.
Amber Nichols led Broughton with 26 points. She leads the club with 15.4 points per game.
Broughton has won seven straight since losing to Wakefield, 42-34, on Jan. 13.
