— Boston College squeezed by N.C. State with a 58-52 victory Sunday afternoon on the final day of the regular season at Conte Forum.

Shayla Fields led the Wolfpack (13-16, 5-9 ACC) with 14 points and five assists, while Bonae Holston and Tia Bell collected 12 points and 10 points, respectively, for the Pack. Holston also hauled in 11 rebounds.

Boston College's front line of Stephanie Murphy and Carolyn Swords was dominant down low again in the teams' second meeting this season. Murphy had 15 points and eight rebounds, while Swords had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Boston College took an early 13-7 lead, but the Wolfpack forced six turnovers in seven minutes to get back into the game and take a 14-13 lead on a jumper by Bell.

Later, with the Eagles leading 28-20, a put-back basket by Hanna Halteman and a 3-pointer in the corner from Kristy Kenney sent the game into halftime with the Pack down by three, 28-25.

Early in the second period Nikitta Gartrell brought the Wolfpack even at 33, but Boston College (19-10, 7-7) regained the lead with consecutive 3-pointers.

Gartrell later made back-to-back jumpers to cut the Pack's deficit to one, 47-46, with just over seven minutes to play.

In the closing minutes and with the Pack trailing 54-50, Fields had a good look from beyond the arc, but her shot hit the front of the rim and the Eagles hauled in the rebound.

Victoria Jones sealed the win for the Eagles with two free throws in the final minute.
