Louisville upsets Terps, heads to Final Four

RALEIGH – No. 3-seeded Louisville upset top-seeded Maryland in the NCAA Tournament's Raleigh Regional final and earned the school's first trip to the Final Four.

Headed to St. Louis April 5-7, the Cardinals will play the winner of Tuesday's Oklahoma City Regional game between No. 1-seeded Oklahoma and No. 6-seeded Purdue.

The Cardinals (33-4 ) pulled ahead of Maryland by 19 points with a little over a minute remaining and closed out a game it led throughout at the at RBC Center.

Louisville senior forward Angel McCougtry, who led her team with 21 points and 13 rebounds, was named the regional's MVP.

Her performance in Monday's game, however, was not enough to carry her team. She had help with three other players scoring in double figures, including senior forward Candyce Bingham, who chipped in 15 point and six rebounds.
