RALEIGH — A man was arrested Wednesday and accused of leading police on a chase with a 2-year-old child in his car.
Tyquan Monzel General, 24, is charged with felony robbery, felony speeding to elude arrest, misdemeanor child abuse, hit-and-run and other charges.
Arrest warrants said an officer tried to stop General's car March22. The documents said General sped through parking lots at Ravenscroft High School, ran a red light on Falls of Neuse Road and crashed through a chain-link fence at a church playground. Services were being held at the church, an officer wrote.
A 2-year-old girl was in the car with General, warrants say, and he left her behind when he jumped from the car.
Warrants list addresses for General on McGuire Drive and Quail Ridge Road. He was being held in the Wake County jail with his bail set at $30,000.
