Slinging insults

April 3, 2009

Regarding the April 1 letter "Hagan the parrot":

Being a seventh-generation Southerner, I was highly insulted by the writer's remark regarding North Carolina no longer being a part of the Redneck South.

Perhaps the writer doesn't realize that the intelligent, warm, friendly, generous and courteous people of North Carolina are the primary reason people like him are attracted to the region in the first place.

His sarcasm and insult to the Southern people of our state are not appreciated.
