Highly touted lineman, brother pick Pack

Staff WriterApril 8, 2009

Chapel Hill High's Robert Crisp, a 6-foot-8, 304-pound offensive tackle and the top-ranked high school junior in the state, has committed to N.C. State along with his brother, defensive back Pete Singer.

Crisp is ranked the No. 5 offensive tackle in the country by scout.com. He had more than 30 scholarship offers, including invitations from every ACC team.

He had been recruited nationwide but wanted to stay close to home and play with his brother.

Singer, who is also a junior, is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back.
