Man killed after making ATM withdrawal

The Associated PressApril 22, 2009

— Police are investigating the shooting death of a man found slumped in his truck after he made an early morning withdrawal from an ATM in eastern North Carolina.

Lumberton Police Lt. Johnny Barnes said 46-year-old Charles Rozier was found about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near the ATM with a gunshot wound to his chest. A receipt showed he withdrew money from the State Employees Credit Union machine at 2:11 a.m.

Barnes didn't say how much money Rozier withdrew, but said his wallet was with him and had cash in it.

Barnes said the shooting was recorded on poor quality surveillance tape. Rozier was approached by two men after he got back in his truck. The tape showed the men opening the truck door and one of them shooting Rozier before they ran.

No arrests have been made.
