A story on Monday's front page had Pvt. Luke Martin fighting on the wrong side in the Civil War. Martin was in the 1st North Carolina Colored Infantry, also known as the 35th United States Colored Troops. He was among the first people of color to enlist in President Lincoln's "African Brigade."
