It's that time of year. In the next week or so, the region's public outdoor pools will be opening.
Here's a list of the big public pools in the Triangle and when they'll open. If I'm missing your favorite, please add it in the comments.
Biltmore Pool, 701 Crown Crossing Lane: Open June 13 to Aug. 16
Chavis Pool, 720 Chavis Way: Open June 13 to Aug. 16
Lake Johnson Pool, 1416 Athens Dr.: May 23 to Aug. 31
Longview Pool, 321 Bertie Dr.: June 13 to Aug. 23
Ridge Road Pool: 1709 Ridge Rd.: May 30 to Aug. 23
Optimist Pool, 5902 Whittier Dr: Reopens June 1 after a massive upgrade.
Pullen Aquatic Center, 410 Ashe Ave., and Millbrook Pool, 1905 Spring Forest Rd., will begin their summer hours on May 18. Millbrook also will open its wading pool and sprayground on May 18.

The city's two outdoor pools are open from June 13 to Aug. 16.
Locations: Hillside (1300 S. Roxboro St.) and Long Meadow Pool (917 Liberty St.)
Hours: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Hillside has special free swim hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Long Meadows are from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays.
A.D. Clark Outdoor Pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The town's Web site will be updated later with more information on the schedule.
Holding Park Pool, 133 W. Owen Ave., will be open May 23 through May 25, June 6 through June 7, and open on a daily basis starting June 15. The season ends Aug. 23. Open swim times are 1 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 7 p.m. on the weekends.
The Morrisville Aquatic and Fitness Center, 1301 Morrisville Parkway, is open year-round and the pool's air-supported bubble roof is already removed, I'm told. Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
