Boy injured by errant bullet in Durham

— A young boy was shot this afternoon, struck by what Durham police believe was an errant bullet from a drive-by shooting.

The youth, who was not identified, was shot in the buttocks just after 3 p.m. in front of 2307 Hart St. The boy was sent to Duke Hospital with serious injuries. His age was not made available by police this evening.

The shooting is under investigation. Those with information are asked to call Investigator J. Smith at 560-4415 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
