Wrong again

June 23, 2009

Charles Krauthammer, who can be depended on to espouse a conservative and/or Zionist viewpoint, together with Obama-bashing, was wrong again when he opined that Obama should take sides and presumably encourage Iranian dissidents to pull off a revolution (column, June 20).

His advice ignored the fact that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's opponents have not suggested that Iran give up its nuclear programs. Furthermore, there is good reason to believe that even though there were election irregularities, Ahmadinejad would still have won.

The Washington Post has reported that an informal poll of the Iranian diaspora in the United States showed that 60 percent of those polled believe that U.S. involvement in the dispute would be counterproductive. Would Krauthammer like to see more blood in the streets?
