CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Todd Frazier and Zack Cozart hit home runs to lead the Carolina Mudcats to a comeback 4-3 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field on Thursday night.
Trailing 3-0 in the fourth, Frazier drilled a pitch off the left-field scoreboard to draw the Mudcats (3-8) to 3-1.
In the sixth with Lookouts starter Travis Chick still in the game, Sean Henry tripled and scored on a groundout by Jose Castro. After an error kept the inning alive, Cozart crushed a 3-1 pitch over the left-field wall to give Carolina a 4-3 lead.
Jordan Smith (5-3) earned his first win since May 24, working five innings, permitting three runs -- all in the first inning.
Smith, Philippe Valiquette, Sean Watson and Logan Ondrusek, who earned his third save, combined to shut out the Lookouts (5-6) on five hits over the final eight innings.
Logan Parker hit two doubles, and Castro singled twice and drove in a run to assist the Carolina offense.
Carolina, trailing the six-game series 3-2, plays the final game of the set at 6:15 tonight with Travis Wood pitching against J.D. Durbin.
