Notable rudeness

July 7, 2009

The almost all day Fourth of July celebration at the Koka Booth venue in Cary was well planned. Music was outstanding, especially the N.C. Symphony that I was trying to hear for my first time.

As a transplant from the New York City area, the civility and courtesy of Carolinians is refreshing. How sad were the rude and thoughtless people who chatted above the music, never even looking at the bandshell. At least 30 percent were obviously just waiting for the fireworks.

The Symphony and the Cary Band are due an apology. The producers must tell the people to let folks hear the music.
