7 wasn't always lucky for Michael Jackson

NewsdayJuly 17, 2009

The entertainment/gossip Web site TMZ.com has been leading the charge on Michael Jackson mania for more than two weeks, starting with being the first to break the news of his death June 25.

The site has covered the story in excruciating, almost minute, detail, but amid the peephole-reporting, someone at TMZ may have had just a little bit too much time on his or her hands. The site has come up with a truly bizarre set of coincidences involving Jackson and the number 7.

We thought we'd share it with you.

Cue "The Twilight Zone" theme music, if you'd like:

Jackson signed his will on July 7, 2002.

Jackson's memorial was on July 7, 2009, exactly seven years after the will was signed.

Jackson's two biggest hits , "Black & White" and "Billie Jean," were each No. 1 for seven weeks.

Jackson's three biggest albums, "Thriller," "Bad" and "Dangerous," each produced seven top 40 hits.

Jackson was the seventh of nine children.

Jackson was born in 1958: 19 + 58 = 77

Jackson died on the 25th: 2 + 5 = 7

Jackson has seven letters each in his first and last names.
