Lookouts bash Mudcats

— Tommy Giles hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to provide the eventual winning run as the Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Carolina Mudcats 10-6 on Thursday night at Five County Stadium.

The Lookouts tallied 12 hits, including four home runs, off Mudcats pitchers.

Todd Frazier and Juan Francisco each hit solo home runs as the Mudcats tried to rally from a 5-0 deficit.

Carolina's Shaun Cumberland went 2-for-5, including a run-scoring double in the eighth inning and a two-run single in the ninth.

Jesus Castillo (5-7) gave up only one run and four hits in seven innings to earn the win for Chattanooga.
