Triangle youth teams advance to title games

Two Triangle-based teams will play for their age groups' national titles after wins in Friday's early games.

Boys' U-17 squad Triangle United Gold will take on CZ Elite at 8 a.m. Saturday after a 1-0 win on Friday. After being held to nil-nil in the first half, coach Elmar Bolowich moved midfielder McAmos Paye to striker for the second half. Paye scored the match's only goal in the 70th minute.

Girls' U-14 squad 94 CASL Spartan Elite Black also managed a 1-0 win Friday, coming off a Morgan Reid goal in the 58th minute. They will take on Mustang Blast -- which they tied earlier in the tournament -- at 4 p.m. Saturday.
