One charged in fatal Raleigh wreck

— A Raleigh woman died early this morning and three others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Capital Boulevard near Old Buffaloe Road.

Teresa Bordeaux, 47, died at the scene after her vehicle was struck by another car, police said.

Bordeaux was driving a Honda Accord just before 8:30 a.m. with two passengers, Gary Bryant, 51, and Cassandra Carroll, 18.

The car was stopped at a red light in the right turn lane of southbound Capital Boulevard at Old Buffaloe Road, officials said.

A Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Keosha Patton, 24, approached the same intersection. There was an SUV in the lane beside the Honda. As Patton approached, she was unable to see past the SUV and changed lanes, entering Bordeaux's lane.

Authorities said Patton was speeding and could not stop in time when she saw Bordeaux's vehicle stopped in front of her.

After the collision, the Honda jumped the median and sideswiped a Pontiac traveling northbound driven by Sharde Jones, 19.

Bordeaux was pronounced dead at the scene. Patton, Bryant and Carroll were released from Wake Medical Center this evening after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Chris Bertram. Jones was not injured.

Patton was charged with death by motor vehicle, speeding and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, Bertram said.
