Carnival at boys club honors coach

— A community day carnival honoring LeVelle Moton, N.C. Central University's head basketball coach, will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the Raleigh Boys Club.

The event will feature laser tag, a water slide, a luncheon and other activities for an expected 400 children and their families.

The carnival also concludes summer activities for the Raleigh Boys Club, the Raleigh Girls Club and the Washington Elementary Boys & Girls Club.

Moton is an alumnus of the Raleigh Boys Club and is a supporter of the Boys & Girls Club movement, which primarily caters to inner-city children. The Raleigh Boys Club is at 605 Raleigh Blvd.
