Yankees beat Bulls down

— Scranton/Wilkes-Barre jumped on Durham early and often, building a 9-0 lead that the Yankees would not relinquish in earning a split of their four-game set with the Bulls with a 9-3 victory Monday night.

Bulls pitcher Jason Cromer (5-3) was roughed up for seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and four walks in 51/3 innings.

Josh Towers (5-6) picked up his fifth win of the season with six shutout innings, giving up only two hits while striking out five. Catcher Chris Stewart had three hits and scored two runs.
