From staff reportsSeptember 8, 2009

RALEIGH -- In a narrow vote this afternoon, the Wake County school board selected former elementary school principal Carolyn Morrison to fill the remaining term of District 6 board member Beverley Clark.

The board voted 4-3 in favor of Morrison, a long-time Wake educator who has also taught at Peace College and Campbell University. She will fill Clark's unexpired term, which ends in 2011.

Clark, who represented District 6, which includes central Raleigh, resigned last month.
