Wake school board member sworn in

STAFF WRITERSeptember 15, 2009

— Retired educator Carolyn Morrison was sworn into office today as the newest member of the Wake County school board.

Morrison was appointed by other board members last week to fill the vacancy caused by Beverley Clark’s resignation from the District 6 Central Raleigh seat.

Morrison pledged she would work toward the board’s goal of having all high school students graduate by 2014.

Morrison will serve the rest of Clark’s term, which expires November 2011.
