Regarding the Sept. 25 article "Well-paid staff, little help for soldiers": $7.3 million and no tangible results -- it is almost a daily occurrence that we read yet another article about wasteful spending of taxpayer money with our state government and university system. When will this stop?
I would have been more than happy to fill Susann Kerner-Hoeg's position at half the salary, paid for my own meals and no travel expenses. In fact, I could have walked to work from my home near the UNC campus.
Congressman David Price stated "the check is not just sent out and forgotten," but isn't four years later a little late to check? But let's not forget the accomplishment of a database of mental health providers; information that can usually be found in the yellow pages.
Enough is enough!
