Black sea bass (Centropristis striata)

If you're planning to fish for black sea bass, be aware that the season north of Cape Hatteras is closed. The season for this fish with mild-tasting white flesh closed on Monday and will remain closed for six months. The emergency closure was made because the 1.14-million-pound recreational harvest limit has been far exceeded.
