CHAPEL HILL — UNC's Late Night With Roy is underway. Check back for updates...

Blue beats White 36-32 to end the evening.

9:30: New season, new set of walk-ons. They are: Thomas Thornton, James Gallagher and Terrence Petree. All played ont he junior varsity team last season.

9 :27: It took John Henson about 10 seconds to score. He has two buckets for the Blue team, and Will Graves has two three-pointers for the White team.

9:06 p.m.: Guys just did their last dance, pulling in the coaches. Scrimmage is about to begin.

8:53: The best gag of the night, so far: A video spoof of Hansbrough's AT&T "lost dog" commercial -- with freshman John Henson donning a braided wig to play the little girl, and the freshman Wear twins playing the role of Hansbrough.

8:31: Men's team is doing skits to commemorate the five different years UNC has won an NCAA championship. For 1957, they donned Elvis wigs....

8:22: Men's team just announced, with John Henson throwing up powder as he took the court, Larry Drew II wearing sunglasses and Deon Thompson carrying two pom poms. Biggest applause is for coach Roy Williams.

8:11 p.m.: The men’s team is about to announced, and already it’s weird, knowing four-time All America Tyler Hansbrough isn’t among the players. Coach Roy Williams was asked Thursday if it was odd not having No. 50 around. His reponse:

“ I keep looking for him – Where’s Waldo? Where’s Tyler? I talked to him the week before last, I’ll talk to him tonight. I talked to him before they went to China, and he was about to jump off the end of the world at the idea of a 20-hour flight. … When we’ll really miss him more than anything is the first practice, and during those practices when you’ve got to have a basket -- the confidence they had that that’s where they were going to start first. We’ve got to find out where that’s going to come from. We’ll miss him when we look at the stat sheet at halftime of the first game, and at the end of the game. We could basically count on 18 to 32 [points] and 7 to 13 [rebounds]. And he became one of our best defenders in his sophomore year on. It’s a big challenge to try to replace that part of the game, but even more so, the personality.”

8:06: Women's scrimmage final: Pink squad 10, Blue squad 7.

7:51 p.m.: Scott just brought former American Idol contestant Anoop Desai onto the court. He didn't sing.

7:47 p.m.: Breland sat on the bench, laughing, as her teammates took part in its first skit. Now they're showing highlights of last year's team., which was upset in the second round of the NCAA tournament .

approx. 7:26 p.m.: Huge, huge applause for North Carolina senior Jessica Breland, who was just announced with the women's team. The starting forward is being treated Hodgkins' lymphoma, and it's still not known whether she will play this season.

approx 7:17 p.m. : ESPN's Stuart Scott, a UNC grad, has taken the Smith Center court, which can only mean one thing -- "Late Night With Roy Williams" has begun, which means college basketball season is about to begin.

As per the last few years, the women's team should take the court first -- then the men, with a series of skits and songs before scrimmaging.
