I am a Canadian, and was watching the Toronto at Carolina hockey game on television on Friday evening.

Much to my surprise Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice was wearing a poppy. The poppy is a symbol used in Canada as remembrance for veterans who have given their lives for their country. This includes the First World War to current times. I realize that Maurice is a Canadian living in your beautiful state, but it shows what a class act he is by respecting this tradition on international TV.
